Sacramento – Dependency Drug Court (DDC) and Early Intervention Family Drug Court (EIFDC)

CFF has been evaluating the Sacramento DDC program since it began in 2001 to address the needs of families where parental substance use has been identified as contributing factor to the child maltreatment.  In an effort to promote preventive strategies, EIFDC was developed as a collaborative project by Sacramento County’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) divisions of Child Protective Services and Behavioral Health Services.  EIFDC is a voluntary program for lower risk families who have a case open with child welfare.   Although these two programs fall under the same funding stream and contract, these are two distinct evaluations with separate populations and very different program approaches.
